Timing belt shafts
One product – two solutions
Product information
Our high-precision toothed shafts—also known as timing shafts or timing bars—are true all-rounders in modern automation and conveyor technology. Optimised specifically for the heavy loads of polyurethane (PU) timing belts, they guarantee maximum running smoothness and outstanding precision in your equipment.
Whether you require premium raw material for your in-house workshop or need to implement complex parallel drives, our portfolio meets your requirements perfectly. We offer two smart solutions:
Cost-effective bar stock (cut-to-length) for in-house manufacturing:
Save time and money in your production. Our toothed shafts provide an ideal basis for quickly and flexibly manufacturing smaller, custom-made timing belt pulleys or specialised rollers. They are easily cut to the desired width and machined with internal bores or keyways according to your exact specifications.
Continuous timing shafts for perfect synchronism:
In multi-axis systems and conveyor technology, our shafts can be used directly as full-width drive rollers. They mechanically couple parallel running belts rigidly together to ensure absolute synchronism. This reliably prevents wide conveyed goods from skewing or jamming, enabling backlash-free positioning.
In addition to our standard stock items, we manufacture ready-to-install, finish-machined timing shafts precisely according to your technical drawings or samples.
Technical specifications
- Maximum profile accuracy: Extremely tight gearing tolerances ensure optimal load distribution, perfect tooth engagement, and absolute, slip-free power transmission. This minimises belt wear and ensures quiet operation.
- Tailored materials: Manufactured as standard from high-strength, RoHS-compliant aluminium (e.g. AlCu4MgSi). For extreme operating conditions, robust steel and stainless steel options are also available.
- Selectable tooth gap designs: Depending on your specific requirements, we supply standard normal backlash gaps, SE backlash gaps, or zero-backlash options (Null-Lücke) for maximum positioning accuracy.
- Surface finishing: For enhanced corrosion and wear protection, we offer optional surface treatments including anodising, hard anodising (hard coating), galvanising, and black oxide finishing.
- Flexible length range: Our fully toothed standard shafts are available in practical lengths between 140 mm and 200 mm (e.g. 150 mm, 160 mm, or 180 mm).
